This morning as I worked in the yard a Red-breasted Nuthatch came through
some of our walnut trees. We have been treated by occasional Red-breasted
Nuthatch visits all year. Often the visits have been separated by several
weeks. This one is certainly quite late in the season.
And - for the sake of record clarity - the Pine Siskins that have hung
around this place since January finally left. The last one of the season
was seen on May 22nd. (Last year the final one was seen on May 23rd.)
