I spent yesterday birding on the Piedmont and in Western Maryland.  
The highlights were 19 species of warblers and 4 species of 
Empidonax flycatchers.  The cast of characters, roughly in order of 
appearance, included the following:

Slate Quarry Road (FR):
Louisiana Waterthrush
Kentucky Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
Northern Parula

Prairie Warbler - Rte. 109, east of Slate Quarry Road (MO)

Yellow Warbler - Rte. 40 at Stottlemeyer Road (WA)

Warbling Vireo - Black Rock Road (WA)

Pine Warbler - Green Ridge State Forest (AL)

American Redstart - Rocky Gap State Park (AL)

Old Legislative Road (AL):
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Willow Flycatcher
White-eyed Vireo
Brown Thrasher
Yellow-breasted Chat
Grasshopper Sparrow
HENSLOW'S SPARROW

Finzel Swamp (GA):
ALDER FLYCATCHER
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Northern Waterthrush
WILSON'S WARBLER

Double-crested Cormorant - Piney Reservoir (GA)

Black-throated Green Warbler - Piney Run Road (GA)

West Shale Road (GA):
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler

Black-and-White Warbler

Hooded Warbler - Frank Brenneman Road (GA)

New Germany State Park (GA):
Acadian Flycatcher
Blue-headed Vireo
RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH - heard only
Northern Parula
Louisiana Waterthrush
Dark-eyed Junco - a pair, apparently nesting

LEAST FLYCATCHER - Lower New Germany Road (GA)
