Last night, Peter Osenton, myself and several others did a Whip survey
at the North Tract of Patuxent. While waiting a the gate, Peter and I
observed a young Cowbird begging for food (and persistently
following), a frustrated female Baltimore Oriole. Argh... parasites.
The good news: on our 10-stop route we heard 14 WHIPS. For both Peter
and I, those were the sounds of a much-coveted County bird.
