Hi All -
It's great to be back in the USA for 6 weeks and birding at my old haunt
with John Combs. The weather was delightful yesterday morning and Blue Mash
was lush & green from the recent abundant rainfall. John has done a great
job in taking over the maintenance & monitoring of the nest boxes and
coordinating activities to begin removal of the invasive plants that plague
the native flora at Blue Mash.
Even though we observed the usual suspects found at Blue Mash at this time
of the year, it was a delight for me to trade Far East birds for East Coast
birds after an 8 month absence. Not that I miss them, but would you believe
I haven't seen a House Sparrow or a European Starling since I left the
States?
Regards,
Tom Marko
