Folks

While having coffee on my deck around 7 AM a Black-billed Cuckoo started singing. I wanted to confirm the species so I played some song on the iPod, and the bird responded by singing a long tu tu tu tu series a number of times. The bird would not show of images, but this is #105 for the yard year list and a whapping #200 for my 2009 state list.

If this were atlas time this bird is in safe dates, but likely just wondering around looking for a girl friend. I remember when I did that.

Also, a Yellow-throated Vireo has been singing around the house for a couple weeks. I hope he finds a mate, but there are not too many trees left.
