I am posting this for my son Chris Ordiway and granddaughter Dora Tak who
have seen the above birds this morning. Chris called about five minutes ago
and the roseate spoonbill is at the end of Madison Avenue where the white
house and building are located with the private sign at the entrance. The
bird is sitting in one of the pine trees to the side of the house along with
some egrets.
They saw the common moorhen earlier behind Catch 54 as it came out of the
marsh grass, washed itself for about 30 seconds and then returned to the
grasses.
The Eurasian collared-dove was seen at a house in a pine tree across the
street from Sussex Eye Center in Selbyville about 10 miles West of Catch 54
on Route 54. The doves have also been seen on the utility lines and in the
yard near the pine trees.
Congratulations Chris and Dora on getting 3 life birds so far today and I
hope you get the black bellied whistling duck later this morning.
Happy Birding to all,
Patricia Rose
