Bill and Matt--

This is every bit the exceptional read I thought it would be. What great research and documentation as well, and so well written! I should also extend my thanks to Marshall for some of these latter attributes. A wonderful product--I will greatly enjoy watching these birds get ticked off the list, and see who ends up with most bragging rights ten years hence.

>Matt Hafner and I have completed a 2009 version of "Maryland's Next Ten Bird Species," an article originally compiled by Marshall Iliff in 2001. After several months of data gathering, we polled a cross-section of Maryland's birders and processed votes for the most likely new species to be recorded in the state. The article outlines the Next 10 project, presents the ranked list of all 63 species that received votes, and provides an analysis of each species. I'm fighting to keep this short, as the document's introduction covers everything!
