Sadly, that is too true. Still there are a surprising number of staffers who are interested in birds & birding and some are even members of MDOsprey. So posting to Osprey gets the word out to a surprising number of people and since it is - although a federal enclave - still a part of the state of MD, i think it is valid to report on birds found there.
BTW one YCNH was to be found again this morning perched in one of the dead branches of a Walnut (?) tree adjacent to the creek. Both YCNHs i've seen this week have been adults.
I also observed a V of geese flying on campus this morning; the first following the close of the breeding season.
