Hi Felicia,
Since you seem to have so many Phoebe's around I was wondering if you've
(ever) seen one eat fruit? I watched what I am almost certain was a young
Phoebe (it was partially hidden by the fence it was perched on) sallying into
one of our thornless blackberries and taking bits of berries, then
returning to eat it on the fence. I've never seen a Phoebe eat fruit, so was
wondering if it was normal behavior...

The Eastern Phoebe in my barn fledged two broods this year for a total of
ten chicks.
There are baby phoebes everywhere: around the barn, on the fence, on the
deck, on the clothes line. The two garden phoebes fight daily over who get
to perch on the top of the Butterfly Bush.
My favorite observations:
This morning a (very confused) phoebe mistook a hummingbird at the feeder
for a giant bug. The hummer was not at all amused!
These phoebes take flycatching micro baths: after drinking they charge the
water for a fraction of a second.
