i have been birding on a 3/4 mile stretch of an unnamed trail at LB which starts at a new parking area for horse trailers on lewisdale road and goes to another parking area on clarksburg rd. where it runs into browning run trail and all of the trail is on the east side of clarksburg rd. the habitat is good for this time of year. the blue grosbeaks were both a male and a female seen about 1/2 way down the trail where there after i leave an orchard grass field and and come to a field with lots of weeds and bushes walking from the direction of the horse trailer area. usually i see 20 to 30 species there including willow fly catchers, orchard orioles, yellow warblers and chats and often a screaming red tailed hawk flies overhead. but watch for ticks and there is not much shade. john f stup, damascus
