I was watering some flowers with the garden hose this morning and there  
was a fine mist coming out next to the main stream.  A female hummingbird 
swoops into the  mist, hovering and turning this way and that.  She wasn’t five 
feet from me and stayed  there at least 30 seconds. Then she flew to a 
nearby perch in the sun and  preened for a minute or two.
