On Skimmer Island at lunchtime today, there were...

2 Marbled Godwits
35 Black Skimmers 33 Adult, 2 downy young (possibly 3 more, but they
were far too small to define as Skimmers. That said, they were on
their own on the island's Southern tip.)
1 Gull-billed Tern
2 Sandwich Tern

And a great showing of all of the expected species.

On the way home, I stopped by Egypt Road and had a tremendous Swallow
showing. Barn, Bank, one Cliff, one NRW, a few Tree, in addition to
several PUMA and Chimney Swift... made for a memorable visit.
Shorebirds in the miracle impoundments: 3 Least Sand, 1 Solitary Sand,
2 Spotted Sand and 1 Killdeer.

And one last stop on the return trip home was to the cemetery on
Manadier Rd (sp?) just outside of Easton. I'm delighted to say that
the Dickcissel finally made an appearance for me at this location.
Singing and perching nicely nearby, this bird has a reliable 'miss'
for me on more than a few occasions this year.

Good Birding,
