Hey everyone,

Mikey Lutmerding, John Hubbel, Dan Small, Kevin Graff, Nico Sarbanes, Mike
Walsh, and myself began the day at bayside on Assateague Island. There
wasn't much of a flight. A few Redstarts, Black-and-white Warblers, and a
single Baltimore Oriole were the only migrants seen from 6 to 8 am. The
real treat of the morning were a couple of Chuck-wills-widow that were
calling at dawn. We soon found one perched and everyone with a camera got
photos.

After Bayside we proceeded to the inlet where we did an 1.5 hour seawatch
with nothing of note except a single Gannet and about 15 Black Terns.

After the inlet we scanned Skimmer Island from the Rt 50 bridge. Est. 20
Black Skimmers and two Marbled Godwits were a treat. The godwits were a
state bird for Nico.

We then went to the Murray Turf Farm in northern Worcester County where we
picked out two Golden Plovers feeding with the Black-bellied Plovers. A
single Pectoral Sandpiper was also observed.

Shilo Church Turf Farms south of Hurlock in Dorchester County was our next
destination where we had 15 Upland Sandpipers.

At the Hurlock WWTP our prize bird was a Marbled Godwit. First spotted by
Mikey we were all able to get great looks. The shorebird numbers at Hurlock
were impressive with Stilt Sandpiper, Lesser Yellowlegs, Spotted Sandpiper,
Least Sandpiper, Semipalmated Sandpiper, White-rumped Sandpiper, and Western
Sandpiper recorded. Four Blue-winged Teal were also observed.

We then headed to Blackwater where our best bird was a Black-throated Green
Warbler. The White Pelican is still present.
