It was a pretty morning around Schoolhouse Pond. Although there wasn't a big variety of birds passing through, there were a few neat migrants. The highlight was when I spotted a Broad-winged Hawk high on a dead snag. The bird was being harrassed by some crows as it perched out in the open in the early morning sunlight. I watched the bird for five minutes or so before it flew off across the pond and out of sight.

Other birds present included a Northern Waterthrush low in one of the willows adjacent to the boardwalk. Also, I got views of one of the adult Black-crowned Night Herons. Also seen were 1 Herring Gull, 1 Ring-billed Gull, 1 Laughing Gull (all gulls were flyovers), an immature Double-crested Cormorant, Belted Kingfisher, 2 female Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, flyover Bank Swallow, 2 Great Egrets, 4 Great Blue Herons, 2 Green Herons, an Osprey, and a flyover adult Bald Eagle.
