Just spent at least a half hour sitting on the back deck. Let's keep this
whole episode between us because when Laura gets home she'll be kinda pissed
that her investment in a water garden finally paid off. And she wasn't here
to see it.
In amongst a group of local chickadees, titmice, goldfinches and one
Downy Woodpecker, I had quite a group of warblers. There is a White Pine
over the water feature which has a couple of waterfalls. Directly in back of
it, is a Rhododendron and to the left there are some butterfly bushes and
assorted other stuff. Most of the action was in the rhododendron and the
butterfly bush with occasional flitting up into the pine and into some
maples behind that. I counted the following:

MAGNOLIA - 3 OR 4
BLACK-THROATED GREEN - 2
CHESTNUT-SIDED - 1
NASHVILLE - 1
CAPE MAY? - 1 (not sure)

Also had several Hummers flitting about and one young male kept landing on
the feeder right next to me (no more than 3 feet away).

If you don't have time to go out somewhere and look for them, sometimes
they'll come to you. We don't often get groups like this here. And I did it
without a snake around.
