The Scissortail Flycatcher was still hanging around the usual spot along Rte. 313 in Sudlersville at from @ 10:30 to 11:00 this morning. He was on the power line at the edge of the corn field on the west side of the road, just south of the house as I approached from the south, but he took off and flew across the road to a line of trees that run perpendicular to the road, directly behind a black No Trespassing sign on the side of the road. He landed about fifty feet off the road in plain sight, maybe twenty feet off the ground, out on a branch that hung out over the field on the south side of the tree line. I sat in the car and watched him preen for close to a half hour and he never moved from the perch. His tail feathers have grown in a good bit since the last time I saw him. I have some photos. If anybody's interested in seeing them, just respond to this email and I'll send them along.
