Hey everyone-

Proving once again that some of the best birding is in your own backyard, I had a nice day in the rain at Cromwell today.  Arriving at 1:00pm with my dad (with me and my learner's permit in the driver's seat :) ), I was not expecting much, and for the first 45 minutes, there wasn't much. However, as I walked west along the Sherwood Farm trail, I ran into a nice group of migrants, with good numbers and good diversity.  The definite highlight was a bright yellow-bellied PHILADELPHIA VIREO (MD State Bird #299) that was associating with Warbling Vireos, Red-Eyed Vireos, and Magnolia Warblers.  Other birds of interest included Least Flycatcher (near the Hawkwatch) and Yellow-Billed Cuckoo (Sherwood Farm trail).
