The imm Yellow-crowned Night-heron, which I think has not been reported
since ~ Sep 1, made a surprise return at the North Beach marsh today -
or perhaps merely re-emerged from the grassy haunts into which it can
disappear.

A Chestnut-sided Warbler appeared in our yard this AM. This deserves
mention because for Calvert Co, usually by-passed by migrant passerines,
a single migrant warbler constitutes a wave.
