With southerly winds and a low ceiling, the hawk migration was expectedly
slow today, but the bonuses were watching two Pileated Woodpeckers chase
each other for an hour, and seeing 10 Bald Eagles having fun in the ridge
lift.

If you plan to go birding there this weekend, you'll need to get in early
because it's lighthouse weekend and they'll be shuttling people in from the
boat launch parking lot. There are lots of migrants, though the only
warblers I could ID for sure in such bad light were Black and White and
American Redstart. Green and yellow jobs were there, too, as were
Ruby-crowned Kinglets and at least one Veery. Lots of Flickers, too.
