We went to Patuxent NWR this morning. Report from eBird below. Worrying to see the invasive mile-a-minute vine now invading the refuge, especially around the Visitor Center and along the lake's dam. The refuge is also loaded with interesting types of mushrooms and other fungi; we found at least 20 species today.

Also wanted to share some Silver Spring backyard birds from this morning...a new yard-bird, Bay-breasted Warbler, as well as Northern Parula and American Redstart. Also had a Blue Jay take a (chicken) egg shell from the compost pile, eat most of it but also cache fragments beneath tree bark. We rinse the shells well before putting them in the compost.
