I was able to spend an hour and a half at Cromwell this morning and finally got my PHILADELPHIA VIREO, around 7:30am. (Thanks to all who tried to help, and apologies for all my whining.)

Not long after, a small bird which I expected to be a chickadee revealed itself to be a GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET, our FOS.

Lastly, we were distressed to find a county employee applying herbicide on vegetation around the Lime Kiln, not just on the exotics, but on everything. He had been instructed to do this by his superiors, so Joe called them and had the project halted, at least temporarily. We hope they will rethink this. There are exotics which should be removed, but it's such great bird habitat that the natives should be encouraged rather than eradicated.
