Birds have been few and far between in Ft. Bayard Park this fall, with the big question most mornings being whether there will be ANY birds present.  But this morning there was at last a payoff: a PHILADELPHIA VIREO picking fuzzy caterpillars from the locust trees and beating them senseless.  A first for the park and only the second for me.
