Hello everyone,

I'm gonna be quick because I'm tired, but I wanted to get the word out on Mike and I's best bird from a day spent in Allegany and Washington Counties. Around 5:00PM today, we found a CONNECTICUT WARBLER at Fort Frederick State Park in Washington County, otherwise known as the park you have to go through to get to Big Pool.

We found the bird in the dense bushes behind the visitor center. I was trying to see if I could pish up any sparrows, when Mike noticed a yellow bird respond. We got our binoculars on it and noted the almost brownish throat and head, 100% complete and bold white eye ring, the heavy bill, and yellowish wash from the breast through the undertail coverts. We also had one White-throated Sparrow popup, which was also a county bird - they all count as one.
