Inspired by Rick Sussman's post I sat on my deck from 2:30 to 3:45 this
afternoon, a steady stream of birds. Couldn't pick out anything to add to my
yard list but as far as procrastinating goes, it was enjoyable.

Turkey Vulture: 165, most were in two streams, including one impressive
unbroken stream of 98 birds.
Black Vulture: 7 (local birds I think)
Red-tailed Hawk: 26
Red-shouldered Hawk: 1
Cooper's Hawk: 5
Sharp-shinned Hawk: 4
American Kestrel: 3
plus several unidentified hawks, small and large - too high and often too fast,
they were zipping over at quite a speed!

Nice build-up of sparrows near my house north of Frederick, 8 species on Friday
(if I'm allowed to include House), including Lincoln's, White-crowned and
numerous Swamp, also a couple of Purple Finches. A small retention pond has
attracted Wilson's Snipe, Osprey, Northern Shoveler and both teal sp. recently.
