Hello Maryland Birders,

One of our target sites for western Maryland this year was an area in
Garrett County known as The Glades. This area holds one of our state's best
examples of mountain peatland habitat. The results of 2009 Bird Blitz
surveys demonstrate the importance of this area for a number of Maryland's
vulnerable bird species and for distinct species assemblages. Follow the
