We didn't leave Annapolis until Noon today, but when we did, Chris
Murray, Warren & Lisa Strobel and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to
Blackwater NWR. Thanks to Les and Bill for keeping us all in the loop
on the status of the Hudsonian Godwits. When we arrived, we found
Leslie Starr & Joe Turner with scopes and cameras locked on the birds.
That's always a bonus. Stunning birds those Hud Gods.

Later, we travelled to the Salisbury landfill to find 6 gulls! No,
not 6 species... and absolutely not bird looked to be from California.
Nope, just a handful of gulls sitting on top of the hill. We also
checked the ponds (no gulls), and so after only a few minutes of the
savoring the birdless dump's olfactory delights, we decided to call it
a day. With smiles on our faces and the aroma of landfill in our
noses, we hit Rt 50 West.

The real reason I thought to post tonight: just a moment ago I was out
walking the dog. It sounds like there is a really nice flight going
on tonight.

Enjoy your week and whatever new avian arrivals it might bring...
