Dear All

Despite there being little to see on the radar last night it seems that the approaching low pressure downed some migrants in the city this morning. I saw good numbers of common migrants walking to the metro at Van Ness, most notably about 40 Yellow-rumps. The general bustle continued out of the office window (Connecticut and M) all morning - whilst I was on conference calls - with White-throated Sparrows being the most frequent identifiable birds, but lots of Robins, Jays, Warblers sp going over. So I took a stroll down to the Nat Geo courtyard for lunch and was a bit disappointed to only find a handful of White-throated Sparrows and not much else, until two WINTER WRENS made an appearance which was nice. I then met an Nat Geo staffer who looks at birds there during his breaks who said that the wrens had been there a couple of days. So much for being on the cusp of the fall...

Cheers

Gary
