Hi Everyone,

The Piscataway Eared Grebe (PG Co) was still present at 1:00 pm and apparently had visitors all day (21 Nov 2009). It was fun to see Anna Urciolo, Fred and Jane Fallon, and Barry and Bev from West Virginia. I picked up some great tips, which enhanced my afternoon PG birding (selected species follow):

Piscataway Park (from the boardwalk where the Eared Grebe is)

Red-breasted Merganser--1
Pied-billed Grebe--2
Merlin--1
Red-headed Woodpecker--2

Wharf Rd (near Piscataway Park)

Ring-necked Duck--2
Lesser Scaup--4
Ruddy Duck--680
Bonaparte's Gull--5

Depot Pond in Upper Marlboro

Mute Swan--1
Northern Shoveler--1
Pied-billed Grebe--1
Laughing Gull--935 (2 hours of scrutinizing, but I couldn't pull out a Franklin's)

Have fun,
