There were swans today at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center. About 16 were Mute, but 6 were Tundra. This is the FOS for tundra on the water for me (I heard them on the full moon earlier this month - flying). It was very nice to see the size comparison; the Tundra were swimming among the bigger mutes.

A large flock of ruddy ducks continues there, with a few scaup (greater and lesser), bufflehead and common loons mixed in.

Piney Point trail overlook gave a view of a lot of wonderful SURF SCOTERS, along with some hooded mergansers, ruddies and a loon or two. Bring a GOOD scope or plan to walk in the muck to get close enough for a view.

Quite a lot of birds there today; those are only the highlights!
