There was one GREAT EGRET lingering within Patapsco Pond #10.
I thought I saw it last week on my way up to Baltimore City on 295
(Friday). Again today I thought I saw one from the highway. Of
course, at 55 mph, it's hard to confirm if it's an Egret or a plastic
bit of debris. So I stopped off at the pond to investigate. The large
white wading object was in fact an egret.
Also enjoying the pond: a few dozen Northern Shovelers, many Hooded
Mergs, three Gadwall and a handful of Mallard. Patrolling the skies:
one Red-shoulder and one Red-tailed Hawk.
No Iceland or Glaucous Gulls observed on the pond during my ten minute visit.
Good Birding,
