Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from December 1, 2009

This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot County, who
continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul Sarbanes
Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
Some of the birds were seen from the boat during the trip from
Tilghman Island and back.
Note particularly the strong numbers of Lesser Scaup and Ruddy Ducks
and the presence of several Brown Pelicans. Several Snow Buntings were
found, and a single Cooper's Hawk also showed up.
