I'm forwarding this request from Larry Hindman from MD DNR. Please don't send me any observation data!

-----------------------------------------

Each year Atlantic Flyway state wildife agencies collect productivity information on Tundra Swans.  This is done since we have no breeding or productivity surveys in the Arctic.  We will collect this informaion from now until about Jan. 15, 2009.  If you feel inclined please distribute to your birding network.

Birders can help us out by providing observations of tundra swans when doing their normal birdiing.  Completed observations can be sent to me at <mailto:[log in to unmask]>

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Data for each observation should include:

Date:

Location: example - Hudson Creek, Little Choptank River, Corcheseter County

Lat-long (if possible):

Observer(s) name:

Total number of Tundra Swans in flock, including number of adults and number of juveniles (grey birds): example - 153 total swans, 136 adults, 17 juveniles.

For distinct family groups include number of parents and number of juveniles: example - 2 adults, 3 juveniles

Habitat type:

That they observe.  For each location. For each observation we collect (1) total number of tundra swans and the number of juveniles (gray birds).  We also collect data on family groups, for example - 2 adults and 3 juveniles.  Date and location data are needed.
