Greetings,

This morning I made the following notable observations at the Edgewood Area of APG (Harford, County). Most birds were seen on grassy areas created by construction projects, underground steam lines, or roadside scrapings.

30+ Rusty Blackbirds were seen in the area south of the Weide Airfield and near the "down-range" security fence. These birds were a surprise find and were very attractive. Most were showing extensive "rusty" coloration on their backs, upper abdomen, and heads.

Three Killdeer with the blackbirds.

One American Pipit with the blackbirds.

Three Horned Larks down range.

One Fox Sparrow near the K-field shoreline.

Two Hermit Thrushes near H-field.

Many Savannah Sparrows all down range.

Ten American Turkeys near “range central.”

One Yellow-bellied Sapsucker near M-field.

One Chris Staring :-)
