The Crisfield CBC was held on Saturday, the 27th. Bill Hubick has
already mentioned many of the more interesting species that were
found. I can add to his list SALTMARSH SPARROW, BLUE-HEADED VIREO,
AMERICAN COOT, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, SHORT-EARED OWL, BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVER, SANDERLING, EASTERN PHOEBE, TREE SWALLOW, HOUSE WREN, COMMON
YELLOWTHROAT and BLACK & WHITE WARBLER. Some parties have not
reported yet, so more species may be turned in. Oddly enough, there
were 2 separate Black & white warblers, and the last time this
species was found on this count, the same thing occurred. We were
blessed with the finest morning weather that one could ask for - dead
calm, very warm, clear skies, and very high tides. A complete report
will be available in January, when all party reports are
received. Anyone interested in having a copy should let me
know. Copies will be sent automatically to all participants. If any
participants have some images they would like to have included in the
final report, please let me know. I shot quite a few pictures that
day - it was an extraordinary and picturesque day.
Best wishes,
