Every season brings a new surprise to my feeder. This year we have a flock
of 8-10 bluebirds that are regularly visiting the feeder. What is surprising
is that they are perching on the feeder to eat the sunflower chips.
Moreover, they are surprisingly high up on the pecking order, giving way
only to blue jays and red-bellied woodpeckers. The flock comes and goes
every hour or so. Today in the wind, they are virtually camped out in our
yard.
