The gang at the Rock Creek Park CBC had a tough time of the weather
yesterday too. Species total was only 37, which is not an all time low, but
pretty dismal. Raptors were in short supply.
However, before the winds got going yesterday in the pre-dawn hours we did
get 2 eastern screech owls responding in the park, kind of fitting for me
given my email address. Bill Yeaman and Helen Schietinger got one, and
Nirmal Bhagabati and I found the other. Neither group had any luck with
barred or great horned owls responding.

We were also hoping for an American turkey that had been hanging out around
the golf course, but it was nowhere to be found yesterday. We did find what
looked like turkey tracks in the snow.
There were two Yellow Rumped Warblers found in RCP by Linette Lander and
Judy Schaefer, but that is about as exotic as it got yesterday.
