Hi:
I wanted to pass the along before it gets to late this evening ...
At the tally of the Annapolis CBC this evening, a Western/Clark's
Grebe was reported off of Cape St. Claire by Mike Braun and Chris
Swarth. The description of the bird sounded more "Clarkish" than
"Western" but they were not able to pin down the species identification.
I believe the following directions will get you close ...
Take the Cape St. Claire Road exit north from Rt 50. You will come to
a T at the water. There is a community park in front of you or to
your right. It is posted Private for the community, but the consensus
is that in the winter, no one care if you stop to bird. They had
walked to the right down the beach to the bluff and were looking out
into the bay from there. The bird drifted further out as they watched
it, heading toward either the center of the bay or north toward Gibson Island.
Please pass along any sighting reports tomorrow, positive or negative.
(And, yes, this is reviewable !!! <grin>)
Good luck ... !!!
Phil
