Hi Everybody,
The Kent County Bird Club will launch 2010 with a half-day trip to
Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge on Sunday the tenth of January.
Nancy and I will be at the Dollar General parking lot opposite the east
end of Spring St. on the side toward Philosopher's Terrace at 8:00 AM.
Eastern Neck Island is great for large waterfowl concentrations
including hundreds of Tundra Swans, and thousands of scaup, geese, and
dabblers. The Island is also good for landbirds with its abundance of
hedgerows, woodlots, and marshland. We look forward to your company for
some mid-winter birding - dress warmly and bring snacks. The current
forecast is for brisk weather in the mid-30s.
Good birding,
