Hi all,

I birded around Western Maryland today, the highlights being waterfowl at
Rocky Gap, the Cumberland Terminus, and Jennings Randolph Lake.  Also of
interest along the road to Jennings Randolph, was a decent variety of lower
elevation species that can be tough to find in Garrett County in the winter,
including EASTERN TOWHEE, HERMIT THRUSH, and CAROLINA WREN.  I did a late
afternoon pass through Russell Road where the highlights were- one
dark-morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, 3 RED-TAILED HAWKS, one Eastern, and 2 that
look really good for the "Canadian" sub-species, though one is not as
strongly marked across the chest as the other, I will post photos when I get
a chance.  All and all a great day to be out and about!!
