Hi All,
The dreary weather today allowed me to spend some time going through
yesterday's photo catch from Blackwater. The woodcock crossing the road
was an especially rare treat and the Greater White-fronted Goose appear to
be of one of the western North-American sub-species "frontalis" or
"gambeli" with a light pink bill and broad white tail tip (opposed to
orange bill and very narrow white tail tip on the more expected Greenland
race "flavirostris"). Check out two record shots of the bird at:
