Despite having other obligations, I managed to get out to Greenbury Pt. for a couple hours today (1/18/10) in the spring-like weather.

Between 3:30 - 5:20 pm, my girlfriend and I saw: 12 Hooded Mergansers, several hundred each of Canvasback and Ruddy Ducks, ~ 20 Lesser Scaup, at least 24 Common Goldeneye with possibly more further out, 1 Bufflehead, and close to 1,000 Canada Geese. Also some Mallards, ~ 20 Ring-billed and 2 Great Black-backed Gulls.

Also 1 Brown Thrasher, 1 Gray Catbird, 1 Eastern Towhee, 1 Hermit Thrush, many White-throated and Song Sparrows, 1 Swamp Sparrow, 2 Downies, many Cardinals and Carolina Wrens and Chickadees and 1 Mockingbird about every 10 feet (seemed like it anyway).

Good Birding,
