I also checked this area today since I will be covering it next week as
part of the C&O Canal count. I visited in the afternoon and by then more
birds had arrived. A pair of Common Goldeneye were there, as well as 10
Gadwall, several hundred more Canada geese, and some sort of hybrid
goose (possibly Canada x domestic Graylag) and a white domestic goose.
An adult Bald Eagle also soared overhead. Hope all these birds stick
around for the count!
