Enjoyed the beautiful weather today while counting birds for the C&O Canal count in Washington County. My section included the portion of the "Big Pool" with the interesting concentration of waterfowl in the ice-free section. The highlight was a male Red-breasted Merganser. A pair of Redheads, Northern Pintail, 67(!)American Black Ducks, Gadwall, and a Winter Wren were also nice to see. Full eBird list below.
