Janet,

I haven't seen or heard of any program yet for the Droid, Verizon's
answer to an iPhone type of smart phone. Verizon has several PDA phones,
but again I can't say that there are any programs available for those. I
have the enV Touch which came out last June because I didn't know about
the Droid at the time and would have waited had I known it was coming. I
have a real love/hate relationship with that phone, but it's more of an
I love to hate this phone relationship. I've been considering moving up
to the Driod but I've been waiting to see what else is coming down the
pipe to fill the niche. So far I have been unable to find any of the
programs for the Droid or any other Verizon phone.

Anyway, the iPod Touch works great for me and there are several programs
available for that and the iPhone. iBird is a good and popular app, but
there is also the Nat. Geo Guide Handheld Birds program which is
essentially the Geo Guide in electronic form. There is also a Peterson
Guide Birds of Prey program. So far, you can't beat the iPod/iPhone for
the availability of applications and all other devises have a long way
to go to catch up.
