Hi all,

This morning I took an injured Mourning Dove to 2nd Chance Wildlife Center (Gaithersburg)to see if it could be rehabbed. (Apparently a collision) I read their news flyer. They have been getting birds that are suffering from lead poisoning, and want to find out the source of it.  Lead shot has been phased out over the years, replaced by steel shot used by hunters. It should be reported to the DNR if lead shot is being used. This poisoning trickles down the food chain. I just watched a Nat Geo show with an eagle dying from lead poisoning.
If found quick enough,(birds of prey & waterfowl) they can recover.

Hope this isn't too off topic.

Good birding,
