Hi all,
As I write this, a winter drama is being played out in my front/side yard. For about 30 minutes I've watched an immature Red shouldered Hawk perched in our maple. He/she is a sad sight for sore eyes: one injured eye, ice crusted over it's head. So far it's made one failed attempt to catch a sparrow. The birds are just out of reach: "ha, ha catch me if you can"- it sits and sits. I had some raw ground beef I put out on the ground feeding board, I feel so sorry for the fellar. I hope I don't find frozen RS hawk in my front yard tomorrow morning....
