I was pleased to see a male towhee today, which is not a bird I've seen at
our feeder before. I also have one female red-winged blackbird. I don't know
if she's an advance scout or solo, but her crop sure is full.

We are having to go out every couple of hours to clear snow from the ground
under the feeder. Bob was smart and rotated the feeder on its post, so the
platforms are not directly into the wind, and the attached suet feeder is on
the lee side. A Carolina wren is currently out there hacking away at the
suet. (Yesterday it was singing *inside* our screened porch. We really need
to fix that hole in the screen.)

No purple finch so far, but lots of house finches, juncos and white throats.
Yesterday we had a few goldfinches for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Our lights have blinked a few times so I am expecting to lose power at some
point. Hope you are all snug.
