Spent about an hour and a half on the "near" eastern shore before sunset this afternoon in search of Lapland Longspurs.
Concentrated first on the area around Coveys Landing Rd and Lewistown Rd, where they had been seen frequently before the twin snowstorms.  Most of the backroads are still semi-snow-covered.  As a result of these conditions and the sheer depth of snowpack this time, the largest horned lark flocks are not to be found along the backroads, but rather along the state highways in the mid-shore: 309, 312, 304, etc.  These roads have been plowed now with heavy equipment, and the shoulders are largely snow free with exposed mud in some areas.
The largest flock I found today had 89 Horned Larks and one LAPLAND LONGSPUR on Rt 309 just S of Queen Anne.  The Longspur was an adult female, and she was right next to the road.  I was able to get good looks by parking across the road on the opposite shoulder and rolling along with my hazard lights on.

Good luck and be careful out there.  Most roads are now passable but 4 wheel is recommended on the smaller roads for sure.
