After a great day birding the Delaware shore (no matter how ridiculously cold, I always enjoy a day at Indian River Inlet with close-up views of purple sandpiper and brant) I stopped by Schoolhouse Pond in Upper Marlboro just before dusk. I found 2 active beaver, a white-crowned sparrow, and definitely 3, but likely 4 American tree sparrows. There were no gulls.
