Queen Annes County and Caroline County birds of Feb 14 ,2010

     Hi all after being snowed in and  cleaning  walks and  decks etc most of the week   I  Had to get out for a while on Sun Feb 14  to look around and try to find Longspurs  in Queen Annes County  after several other tries this winter with no luck  . I had different  luck on the 14th  and located  one  then three more  near Ruthsburg Maryland in Queen Annes County . Then to Caroline County Sparks Rd near Ridgely Maryland   no Longspurs there however .   Sparks road on the 14th  not passable so I backed out and went back to Queen Annes County  to work on Waterfowl . Locations and bird lists below . List are also  being submitted as part of the backyard bird Count 


Damsontown Rd  near Ruthsburg Maryland  Q.A. County 

Horned Lark    50 total  small flocks up and down the roadside feeding

Very Snow Covered  drifted not passable

Savannah Sparrow  6      Doves and S. Sparrows were feeding  on weed seed   that was  
                                   on and in  a parked combine  in a field there
